Victoria Henneberry, one of two people serving life sentences for the Feb. 2014 murder of Loretta Saunders, is appealing her second-degree murder conviction.
Henneberry, who is representing herself in court, is asking a panel of three judges with the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal to overturn her conviction because she was distraught and stressed when she agreed to plead guilty.
On Wednesday, Henneberry’s request to adjourn the appeal hearing for another three months was denied. During the appeal hearing, she called three witnesses to testify, including a psychologist to assessed that Henneberry wasn’t suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Today, Henneberry is expected to give final arguments in court.
